The Women in Transplantation (WIT) initiative of The Transplantation Society (TTS), with the support of Industry Partners, will provide funding to support research that contributes to the Grant Recipient’s understanding of the impact of sex and gender issues in solid organ transplantation and immunology.
This initiative was made possible with support with One Lambda, a Thermo Fisher Scientific brand, and Sanofi.
The Women in Transplantation Initiative of TTS will provide funding to support research in sex and gender issues in solid organ transplantation and immunology. The spectrum of studies includes basic, clinical and translational. Selected individuals should have spent two years or less performing research in solid organ transplantation (and/or immunology relating to solid organ transplant) since obtaining their last doctoral degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent). This work may represent a continuation of current research or a novel aspect of work. The mentor should have expertise in transplantation or immunology but need not be an investigator with known expertise in gender and sex.
